I have tested positive for Group Strep B. I've been reading up on it. When teh doctor informed me that I was a carrier she acted as if it were nothing to be worried about,
ralph lauren italia. Naturally I paniced! I want to have a natural vaginal birth and wonder if me being a carrier will stop me from accomplishing that. I know the risk of passing it to the baby is reduced greatly by using antibiotics during labour, but I just need to hear some feedback from others that are in my position or have been in my position. Thank you ery much for your time and consideration.
I have had strep b with my first child over 6 yrs ago and I panicied because my sister a few years before that gave birth to a baby boy and she lost it due to strep b only because her insurance wouldn't pay for the test there for she and her doctors didn't know it was sad however they have come a long way since then and when I gave birth to my son they put me on antibiotics during labor and he turned out very healthy and now with my third child I have once again been tested positive for strep be but I'm not worried I know the procidure and trust my doctor. SO If i were you I wouldn't worry to much it will only make things harder for you instead talk to your docot about your concern and i'm sure she will answer them. Good luck and trust all will be well,

I am a NICU nurse so I know firsthand about GBS (group beta strep) and I have tested positive all 3 times with my girls. I too am induced to ensure I receive the full 4 hours of antibiotics. My labor/delivery goes fast so I usually don't even let them break my water until I have my antibiotic on board (and since I go so fast this seems to pan out in my favor because about that time I go ahead and get my epidural and don't really ever feel pain so birth is a very enjoyable experience,
Le pliage LongChamp! :) Don't panic if your GBS test comes back positive. When it's time to deliver,

If your baby has a fever or you have a fever at birth, they usually do sepsis labs. If your baby is a well baby and goes home and at any point that first month to 2 of life, if your baby has even a slight temp, take her in and have her checked!!! Enjoy this time being pregnant, don't spend it worrying!!!
I barley tested pos. for strep B 6 yrs ago w/ my 2nd child. I go through labor very fast,

The symptom in a newborn is crying, what newborn dosen't cry. my son cried I fed him he fell asleep before he had a temp. I never knew,

The key is you have to have a certain amnt of the med AT LEAST 3 hrs prior to giving birth for it to be effective, which I didn't. I have had 1 son since am preg now. My son was fine.
I also tested positive for GBS with my son and was treated for it during delivery with antbx IV,

I was in labor for 14 hours and they give you a dose of IV antbx when you arrive and then every 4 hours during labor then on top of what they had to give me for my temp later that night, so needless to say I had no good bacteria left and I fought yeast infections for 10 weeks afterward,

I was just speaking to my midwife about the test, which my husband I declined taking for our homebirth. The bad side of the test is that it only tests for the presence of GSB an
